As a supplier we wholeheartedly believe that it’s our responsibility to ensure that our customers can make more informed and sustainable purchases. We also appreciate that for our customers, shopping around for the most environmentally friendly products can become time consuming, and convenience often prevails when times are busy.
As part of our ongoing commitment to a more sustainable future, our team of experts have created Penkeths Planet Rating. Using our unique algorithm, the products we sell are assessed and awarded a planet rating from 0 to 5 according to their environmental footprint – the more plants a product has, the more environmentally friendly the product is.
FAQs
What is the top sustainability score, 5 Penkeths Planets or 1?
Just like a hotel star rating, the more Penketh Planets a product has, the more sustainable it is. If a product has a grey Penkeths Planet, it has been assessed but failed to meet the minimum requirements set out by our exclusive algorithm.
Why don’t all products have a Penketh Planet Rating?
Any items that don’t have either a coloured 1-5 or grey zero Penkeths Planet Rating haven’t yet been assessed by our algorithm. In many cases, we will be waiting for further detailed information or certifications from the product manufacturer. We are continuing to assess more products each week and aim to have Penketh Planet Rated products across all categories, but if there is something you can’t find, please give our team a call.
How does your algorithm work?
A great question – the simple answer is that it’s very complex, but it needs to be in order to give a true reflection of a products sustainability profile. What we can tell you is that not one calculation is the same for each product group, and each is assessed on its own merit, meaning that our formula is unique and exclusive to only us.
Can I filter just on Penkeths Planet Rated products?
Absolutely! When you are browsing the product results pages you can simply switch the product ranking results to display ‘Planet Rating’ and the most Penkeths Planet Friendly options will be shown first.
Why do some products have a grey planet?
If you spot a product with a grey ‘Zero’ Penkeths Planet Rating, it simply means that this item falls outside of the minimum sustainability threshold set by our algorithm. We have highlighted these products to let you know that they have still been assessed, while enabling to you make more sustainable purchases where possible. We aim to have high scoring Penketh Planet Rated products across all categories, but if there is something you can’t find, please give our team a call.
